Hi All, It is surprising and sad to know that people in my own country take advise and information on Music Therapy from people who are not even qualified. I just was wondering that city like Mumbai is so unaware of the field and allows anyone to talk and comment about Music Therapy. To call yourself a Music Therapist, one should be accredited and board certified. Below is the link for more info or please do contact me as I can answer most of your questions on this field. http://www.musictherapy.org/
It is sad that there is not a single course for Music Therapy training in India.
Fortunately, now, there is a UK based Music Therapy trust operating in Delhi. They have started with a one year course in MT. (PGDMT). And they had the first batch of 4 students who successfully completed the course last year.
It is sad to know that certain associations of professionals have given a wrong message by introducing someone as Music Therapist, when they are not qualified.

Hi.
I totally agree with the previous comment.

I hope the awareness increases soon.

It would be appropriate if you call this "Music Medicine" rather than Music Therapy.
I leave it to you to explore the difference!
